Our Perspective

Our view on mobile radiation

At RadiCover, it is our view that the health risk of mobile radiation is unresolved. It should be possible to take a stand based on facts that either confirm or disprove any health risks, but it is not that simple.

On the one hand, there are plenty of studies and reports from famous and respected researchers, international research institutions and research groups that for years have demonstrated clear links between mobile radiation and serious health side effects. The results speak for themselves when mild side effects appear as stress, fatigue and headaches, and serious side effects appear as increased risk of cell changes, weakened immune system and decreased fertility.

On the other hand, there are also studies that can not demonstrate similar connections. It is these studies that the WHO, among others, refers to, while at the same time calling for caution, especially when it comes to children. The results either show that more studies need to be done or reject that mobile radiation has harmful side effects.

In addition, none of the studies we know of show the influence from more than 1 source, ie. that no one can say anything about the total impact when we are exposed to radiation from several sources simultaneously such as mobile, tablet, Bluetooth, WiFi router and so on.

So no, there are no exact facts that neither confirm nor deny the health risk of mobile radiation. Therefore, it can therefore be difficult for you and other consumers to conclude and decide what is right and what is wrong. RadiCover wants to be an offer for those who want to be on the safe side.

Better safe than sorry

RadiCover's view is therefore that you as a consumer should take the precautions you can and protect yourself as much as possible.

It is better to be one step ahead than to discover too late that the damage has been done. RadiCover's products does not only protect your expensive phone and tablet from scratches and damage. They also protect those who use these expensive devices - the phone can be replaced, but you are irreplaceable.

You can protect yourself partly by changing habits, i.a. by limiting your time on the mobile (see our 10 pieces of advice) and partly by using radiation-reducing accessories, such as our special headphones, mobile cover, mobile bag etc.

Only 6% know the recommndations

So far, the Danish health authorities have been very subdued in their communication and announcement about official recommendations when it comes to the use of mobile phones and the radiation emitted from them. We find it very irresponsible since our view is that everyone should be aware of the possible risks, so that one can decide for themself of the need for precautions.

In April 2014, we conducted a representative survey done by Jysk Analyse A/S with the aim of shedding light on the Danes' use of wireless devices. The survey showed that only 6%* of the respondents know the Danish Health Authority's recommendations. We think that number is frighteningly low, especially because the culture in Denmark, and the western world in general, is designed in such a way that unless the authorities warn directly, you do not change behavior. For the same reason, the vast majority of Danes today use wireless devices such as mobile phones, tablets, baby monitors and wireless speakers without considering the possible health risks to which they expose themselves and their families.

81% know about the possible risks of mobile radiation - only 10% protect themselves

The above is confirmed by the fact that as many as 81% of the respondents * were aware of a possible risk of mobile radiation, but only 10% * did something active to protect themselves. When the Danish Health Authority, WHO and the Danish Cancer Society all refer to the "Precautionary principle" regarding the use of mobile phones, we also believe that it is their duty to inform clearly about why and how to behave. When you advise caution, you also say that there is a possible risk.

We have taken a stand. Have you?
